Symposium for Experienced Advocates

This two-day symposium will provide experienced advocates with an opportunity to broaden their community and statewide leadership, discuss current issues, share ideas and learn about promising practices and new approaches to the professional field of advocacy specific to sexual assault. Experienced advocates from non-profit agencies, DA's offices, campuses, culturally specific agencies, law enforcement agencies, and Tribes are welcome to attend.

Eligibility Requirements for Participation

In order to ensure that all symposium participants are in a position to participate and contribute, the following criteria are required for registration and participation:

  • Two years of sexual assault advocacy experience; or

  • Five years of experience in the field of advocacy (related to ending violence against women)

 

Training Topics Include:

  • SA Advocacy for DV Survivors
  • Survivors and Mental Health
  • Advocacy for the LGBTQ Community
  • Successful Programs and Sustainability

 

Cost

The cost for the Symposium for Experienced Advocates is:

  • $120 for Oregon participants
  • $160 for out-of-state participants

The registration fee includes training materials and a light breakfast and lunch for each day of the training.
