Sentencing
Sentencing in Oregon criminal cases is very technical and complex. The range of possible sentences is dependent upon many factors:
- the crime of conviction;
- aggravating and mitigating circumstances involving the offense, the offender and the victim;
- the offender's criminal history, including the existence or non-existence of certain predicate offenses;
- and the position of the victim.
